Booking & your visit
Which facial should I choose for my first visit?
The Balm Introductory Facial includes extra consultation time to talk about your skin and goals. Your esthetician explains the menu and selects a signature facial suited to you.
Can someone help me choose a treatment?
Yes. Contact your preferred studio by phone or email manager@balmpdx.com for help choosing a service or arranging a consultation.
Where is Balm Pearl?
1042 NW Overton Street in Portland’s Pearl District, on the ground floor of the Cosmopolitan building facing The Fields Park.
Where is Balm West?
15000 SW Barrows Road, Building A, Beaverton, in Progress Ridge Town Center across the parking lot from Big Al’s.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes. Balm offers gift cards; contact the studio if you need help choosing one or checking its terms.
Can I book more than one treatment?
Yes. Choose a treatment, then explore the suggested pairings or add another service from the menu. Your timing and available providers are checked in booking. Some skin treatments need to be spaced apart; our team can help plan those.
How do I change an existing appointment?
Sign in to My appointments to view your upcoming visits. To reschedule or cancel, call the studio where you are booked. Appointment policies still apply.
Can I choose a provider?
Yes. Select your treatments, then choose your esthetician before picking a date. For multiple services, choose one eligible esthetician for the whole visit or select a provider for each service. You can also start with all available times.
Facials & skin
Are facials customized?
Your esthetician tailors the facial to your skin and treatment goals. Let them know what you want to focus on during your consultation.
How is a Signature Facial different from HydraFacial MD?
Signature Facials combine cleansing, exfoliation and relaxation. HydraFacial MD uses a specialized device for cleansing, extraction and hydration.
How often should I book a facial?
Balm’s menu suggests every four to six weeks for many clients. Your esthetician can recommend timing for your skin and the treatment you choose.
What should I expect at HydraFacial MD?
Your visit starts with a consultation and skin preparation, followed by cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and hydrating serums. Your esthetician shares aftercare before you leave.
What is dermaplaning?
A professional exfoliation treatment that removes dead skin cells and fine peach fuzz. Balm offers it on its own or within a Signature Balm Facial.
Can I combine a VI Peel with other treatments?
Some treatments need to be spaced apart, especially hair removal or exfoliation on the same area. Ask your esthetician to plan the timing of your visits.
Can I book a VI Peel before an event?
Allow time for peeling and recovery. Balm recommends at least two weeks before an event for a first peel; discuss your timing with the studio.
Lash lifts & tints
What is the difference between a lift and extensions?
A lash lift shapes your natural lashes. Extensions add individual extensions for a chosen level of length and fullness. A tint can add definition to a lift.
How long does a lash lift last?
Typically six to eight weeks, depending on your lash growth cycle and aftercare.
How should I arrive for a lash lift?
Come with clean, makeup-free eyes and remove contact lenses before your treatment. Follow your artist’s preparation instructions.
What happens after a lash lift?
Balm recommends keeping lashes dry and avoiding eye makeup for the first 24 hours. Your artist will explain the aftercare for your treatment.
Lash extensions
When should I book a lash fill?
Most clients return every two to three weeks. If too few extensions remain, a new full set may be needed; your artist can advise.
Can you fill lashes applied somewhere else?
Yes, foreign-fill services are listed. Your artist first checks the existing set and compatibility. Removal and a new set may be recommended if the existing work cannot be filled.
How do I prepare for lash extensions?
Arrive with clean eyes, without mascara, eyeliner or oils. Check the duration of your selected full set or fill when planning your visit.
Brows
Can I combine brow services?
Yes. The menu includes lamination with either tint or shaping, and a combination with both. Shaping is available with wax or sugar.
How long does brow lamination last?
Typically six to eight weeks, depending on growth and aftercare. Balm recommends keeping brows dry for the first 24 hours.
Waxing, sugaring & laser
How long should my hair be for waxing or sugaring?
Aim for at least a quarter inch of growth. Avoid shaving just before the appointment so your provider can remove the hair effectively.
What should I wear to a waxing or sugaring visit?
Comfortable, loose clothing that will not rub against the treated area. Arrive with skin free of lotions and creams.
How should I care for my skin afterward?
Follow your esthetician’s aftercare. Balm’s guidance recommends avoiding heat, sun exposure and harsh products immediately after treatment.
How many laser sessions will I need?
The number depends on the area, hair and skin. Multiple sessions are usually needed; your consultation is the place to build a plan and discuss maintenance.
Can I wax or sugar between laser sessions?
Waxing and sugaring remove hair from the root, so avoid them in the area being treated with laser. Ask your provider about shaving and your preparation schedule.
Are laser results permanent?
Laser is intended for long-term hair reduction. Maintenance may be needed over time; complete permanent removal is not guaranteed.
Teeth whitening
What if I have dental concerns before whitening?
Consult your dentist before scheduling. Balm also recommends brushing and flossing as normal before your visit.
