Balm began with a simple idea: expert aesthetic care should feel personal. A place to be heard, to feel comfortable, and to enjoy taking care of yourself.
Portland native and Advanced Esthetician Britney Krig founded Balm in 2019. Today, our Pearl District and Progress Ridge studios bring that idea to life through skincare, lashes, brows, laser, sugaring, and waxing.
We’re female-owned, and we believe there’s room for everyone in self-care.

Meet Britney and Mykel.
Britney Krig
Founder · Advanced Esthetician
A Portland native and Advanced Esthetician, Britney founded Balm with a vision for a welcoming beauty studio and a personal approach to care. She opened Balm Pearl in October 2019 and Balm West in March 2023.
Mykel Munro
General Manager
Mykel has been part of Balm since its founding. As General Manager, she helps shape the welcoming experience that brings clients back to the studios.
