Preparation & aftercare

Waxing & sugaring

Leave enough hair for treatment and give skin a gentle recovery.

Follow your provider’s personal instructions. Check with your provider and prescriber before changing prescription skincare or medication.

01 · Your care

Before your visit

  • Allow at least two weeks after shaving or waxing, with hair about a quarter-inch long. Contact the studio if you’re unsure.
  • Keep the treatment area free of lotions and creams on the day of your visit.
  • Choose comfortable, loose clothing that will not rub the area. Tell your provider about skincare products and medications.
  • Tell Balm before your visit if you use retinoids or acne medication, or if the area is sunburned, irritated, or recently treated. Your provider must confirm whether hair removal is suitable.

02 · Your care

After your treatment

  • Avoid sun exposure, hot showers, and saunas for at least 24 hours.
  • Avoid exfoliation and harsh products for at least 48 hours.
  • Follow your esthetician’s cleansing and moisturizing advice. Avoid irritating products such as perfume or deodorant on the treated area until advised.
