Preparation & aftercare
Laser hair removal
Start with your consultation and prepare the treatment area carefully.
Follow your provider’s personal instructions. Check with your provider and prescriber before changing prescription skincare or medication.
01 · Your care
Before your visit
- Complete your intake forms and tell your provider about medications, retinol, recent peels, tanning, pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Confirm suitability before treatment.
- Tell Balm about recent tanning or self-tanner before your visit. Confirm any skincare pauses with your provider; do not change prescribed medication on your own.
- Avoid waxing, sugaring, threading, or plucking in the treatment area during your laser course. Confirm when to shave with your provider before each treatment.
- Arrive with the area clean and free of makeup, lotion, and deodorant. Tell the studio about any sunburn or tan.
02 · Your care
After your treatment
- Protect the area from direct sun and follow your provider’s sunscreen instructions.
- Avoid intense workouts for 24–48 hours, and saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs for at least 48 hours.
- Use lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free cleanser. Avoid harsh scrubs or exfoliants for at least a week.
- Let shedding happen naturally; do not scratch or pick the area.
